About Us

100 Women is a project set up by City Gateway  to celebrate 100 different women’s lives and stories, and to bring these women and the community around them closer together.

100 Women is part of the IntergenerationAll programme set up and supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, has helped bridge the culture gap between age groups through engaging women aged between 3 and 80 in sharing their stories, taking part in workshops and a range of courses, bringing communities closer together.

It aims to bridge the gap between local communities and the international firms which work alongside them in Tower Hamlets, and to cross the divide between different generations of the women in the borough.

The 100 Women project celebration coincides with the centenary of International Women’s Day, and is a time to celebrate how much has been and can be achieved by the women who have taken part in the project, but it also serves as a reminder that this journey is incomplete.

There is a challenge and opportunity to change thousands of women’s stories, giving them more social and economic independence and the ability and confidence to make an impact in all avenues of life in our community and beyond. read more...
