When we were young
You force fed me chocolate spread as the first food I ate
We fought like cats and dogs
But you were always my mate
You pushed me down the stairs and cracked open my head
You kicked my mattress and I feel out the top bunk bed
When we shared a room we didn’t get on
You read my diary
You stole my things
You forced to me to watch scary TV
You were not very nice to me

Now we are older
Things have changed
I see you less often
We don’t really fight

I have moved away
You are happy to stay
I come to visit
We talk all night
I don’t ask you for guidance
But I know you are there
I don’t need to tell you
You know I care
Thank you
For just being there
